Career and work

Born Kayleigh Rose Amstutz in Missouri, Roan began sharing music online as a teenager and signed with Atlantic Records at 17. She released her first EP, School Nights, in 2017. “Pink Pony Club” marked a shift toward theatrical pop in 2020. After Atlantic dropped her that year, she worked independently before signing with Amusement Records, an imprint of Island Records, in 2023. [3]

Her tours featured local drag performers and encouraged fans to dress to themes. Opening for Olivia Rodrigo and appearing at festivals, including Coachella, expanded her audience in 2024. [3]

Roan’s performances combine elaborate costumes, drag-inspired aesthetics and audience participation. She continued releasing music with the singles “The Giver” and “The Subway” in 2025. [10]
